30 September 2004 - Horizon announced to the ASX that it had entered into an agreement with AstroVision Australia Limited and shareholders of AstroVision to acquire 51% of the fully paid ordinary shares in the capital of AstroVision. AstroVision has an exclusive licence for the Asia-Pacific region to the patents, IP, and technical developments of Astrovision International Inc. AstroVision applications and services will include live regional and local weather monitoring, real time bushfire alerts and monitoring, and land / ocean surveillance. Click here for more.

26 August 2004 - (As seen on the ABC catalyst program) The Helicon Double Layer Thruster is being developed in the Space Plasma and Plasma Processing Group (led by Professor Rod Boswell) of the Plasma Research Laboratory (Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering) at the Australian National University in Canberra (Australia).

May 6, 2004 The Cooperative Research System for Satellite Systems has been advised by the Department of Educations, Science and Training that its preliminary business case for the Ninth Round of the CRC Program has not been successful. November, 28, 2003 The Navy In Space - Navy to get increased satellite communications capability with the signing of a contract with BAE Systems Australia Ltd.
